CERVICAL CANCER VACCINE APPROVED BY FDA

A new vaccine to prevent cervical cancer has been approved by the FDA and is now available to our patients. Cervical Cancer is the only type of cancer for which the cause is known. It is most often caused by HPV (human pailloma virus) which is also responsible for 35-50% of vaginal infections. We recommend that all females between the ages of 9-26 be vaccinated. The vaccine is administered in a series of three (3) injections, the first injection being followed by one at two (2) months, and then the final one at six (6) months.
