WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LASER VEIN REMOVAL?

Although there is no way to tell for sure which veins will respond to laser removal, a full medical history prior to the treatment will help determine what you should expect.  Prior surgery or treatment on your veins may affect the treatment outcome.  In some cases, further testing may be recommended to determine if there are any underlying venous problems.

Some people report minor discomfort with the treatment.  However others claim that they experience a stinging or burning sensation, but only while the pulse is being delivered.

The treatments time varies depending upon the size of the area, and the number of vessels to be treated.

In many cases, significant improvement is realized in as few as one-two treatments.  In some cases, spider veins reappear and may need to be retreated as necessary.  Treatments are usually spaced about 3-4 weeks apart.

You should avoid tanning or tanning beds for two-three weeks prior to treatment.  Also avoid taking medications such as Aspirin, Bufferin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E or products containing fish oil for at lease 14 days prior to and following treatment.  These products can affect your blood flow, and can affect the outcome of your treatment.
